I bought this as a Christmas gift for one of my many wine loving friends and just had to get one for myself. It tackles a unique subject &#8211; winery architecture &#8211; and gives you a good but not too in depth description of the wine making region, the wine facilities, and the wines themselves.  It is full of great colour photography, site plans, and a broad selection of wineries around the world. The architecture featured is modern and not what you expect of typical wineries&#8230;the Gehry sketches alone are worth the price of the book! Want to impress your friends? Leave this book out on your coffee table. Better yet, pull this book out and enjoy while you sip on a Rioja red.</p>

As I prepare and pack in order to move to the Finger Lakes region of NY state, I enjoyed reading Wine Tour, which further reinforces my love of the area.  I have visited a few wineries and look forward to my permanent residence and a greater dedication of exploring the wine industry there.  The book is well organized, informative and has many beautiful photographs of the region and its wineries. It is must read before wine touring. </p>

Very helpful book for those who are just getting started in the making of wine and a valuable tool for those who have been making wine for a while.  Covers all of he basics and gives good advice for those moments when you are scratching your head saying &#8220;now what do I do?&#8221; or &#8220;how did that happen?&#8221;<br />
<br /><b>Customer Review:</b> did the Australians learn how from this book?<br />
This book is not about wine making; it is about make fruit-flavored  fermented drinks. Fruit not sweet enough? No problem, add sugar. Fruit not acidic enough? No problem, add tartaric acid. Wrong yeast on the skins? No problem, we will kill that yeast anyway (and use the perfect yeast we get from the homebrew store). Make perfect wine everytime; hey, Macdonalds can do it with hamburgers. And that&#8217;s what this book promises: learn the &#8220;secrets&#8221; of commercial wine producers. Altogether very dispiriting. This is the kind of thinking that is ruining the wine industry today (except that 2 percent or so doing sort-of organic wine).</p>

Parker&#8217;s guide currently available came out some time already and does not cover the latest vintages, but the book is still an incredible source of information about wine-making, geographical regions etc. It&#8217;s as if we were buying a few good books in one. You have over 1,600 pages in the book! As such, it offers very good value, especially at the discounted price at which it&#8217;s available now. It is especially useful for people interested in European wines, as it does not cover New World brands in such detail as it does, for example, French or German wines. I strongly recommend the book not just to wine buyers but also to people who want to know more about wines. No other book offers so much at this price. Personally, I treat the reviews as guidelines only though; You may not necessarily like the wines Parker likes, or you may not necessarily be able to afford them. The book does not cover the cheapest lot <img src='http://wine.1vino.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

This is an excellent overview of the heart of California wine country, Napa Valley &#038; Sonoma.  Loaded with lush photography and insight into the tradition of winemaking, the author takes another leap and provides you with fine dining and lodging selections in the areas as well.  I especially liked the pictures of all of the labels and listings at the end of the book of all of the wineries from this area. This allows you to date and check off when you sampled that particular bottle as well as motivate the pursuit to sample all that these wineries have to offer. If you are planning a vacation to Napa or Sonoma, this is a must have.<br />

We picked up a copy of this book last month for us to use on a weekend away in the wine country. Now we have bought several more for gifts to give for Christmas, and our copy sits on our coffee table at home. The author has captured all I needed to know about Napa and Sonoma, wihtout getting to bogged down in details/history. There are recommendations on where to eat, sleep, things to do, the history of the wine industry, how wine is made, and stunning pictures. With 15 minutes you can get so much info you wish there were more coffee table books with this much substance and this well written, with up to date info, but not skimping on the glorious photos.</p>

There may be as many opinions about how to best market wine as there are about how good wines should tastes, which makes filtering out the noise difficult. This makes for a rich blend of insights into exactly how current changes in both who today&#8217;s wine drinkers are and how they enjoy wine must be matched with new ways of communicating and building relationships with them. The book offers many well documented examples on the wide range of efforts underway to reach these new consumers &#8211; from the most traditional forms of print media through the growing variety of Web 2.0 offerings. <p>And this concept certainly sounds like a good idea.  Beloved Veggie Tales character and silly concept, however this book falls short of being a good learning experience.  </p>
<p>The principle problem, I think, is that the topic and the age range is off.  For example, my son (3) likes the book, but his sister (5) found it boring.  By 5 and beyond, I think the idea of a triangular wheel is passe.  The problem with the 4 and younger set though is that they aren&#8217;t quite sophisticated enough to comprehend all on their own, why it wouldn&#8217;t work.  </p>
<p>We solved that problem by experimention with actual shapes, but if you have to resort to that, has the book done its job?  (I leave that to you to decide.)</p>
<p>Two to Three Stars.   At some of the prices this book is available I think it would make an okay purchase for some Veggie fans.  Certainly my son has gotten his dollar&#8217;s worth of fun out of &#8220;Pa Grape&#8217;s Shapes&#8221;.<br />
<br /><b>Customer Review:</b> Not as impressive as the rest of the VeggieTales Series&#8230;.<br />
But still a good book.  Pa Grape is looking for tires for his car and tries the silliest of shapes, including a triangle, square and oval tire&#8230; before finding a circle.  While the book itself is average or better, it  really falls short of the VeggieTales excellence.</p>

If you&#8217;re involved in the wine industry and the marketing of wines in any way, read this book.   As a former media person (20 years) and current winery owner, I appreciate the straightforward and &#8220;to-the-point&#8221; manner  that this book is written in.  Getting media, industry, and consumer attention for your product shouldn&#8217;t be a mystery and it isn&#8217;t rocket science.  This book goes a long way in proving it.<br />

Wine is in fashion for at least 10000 years&#8230;;<br />And I bet: it will be in fashion for the rest of our time !<br />So,against the title of this book I say : There is no saturated markets, there are only people that do not understand wine, it is important for every one of us to reflect on how the American Way of Life is downgrading,<br />we should export happiness, and pleasure, as we did in the late 40&#8242;s and 50&#8242;s after the II WW&#8230;.<br />We should export more wine, wine against any war.<br />Schiffini, J.
